"If winter comes, can spring be far behind?"
This is the quotation from the last line of Shelley's famous poem,'' Ode to the West Wind". Poets used to imagine the world in somewhat different ways. Here winter and spring are compared differently with their deep hidden meanings. Winter is a symbol of desolation, loneliness, and barrenness whereas spring is assumed to be the sign of happiness, joyousness, cheerfulness.
It is said that life is no bed of roses. Happy and sad moments are part of our life. We cannot realize the worth of happy moments unless there are sad moments. Every man on this planet has to pass through the period of miserable existence. The darkness and frustration constitute the man's life. Day is followed by night and similarly night by day.

Similarly, in life every period of despair and sorrow has come to an end. Sadness is a natural part of life as happiness is. As a human, we have to taste every flavor of life whether we like it or not. If we want our life to be tasty, then taste every emotion of life. We experience all these things in real life. Let me tell you one example, by profession I am a student. If I fail in my examination, the sadness hovers around me like a dark cloud and if I again work hard to get success, then definitely the spring is not far behind.

Joys and sorrows are often compared to a pair of shoes. We do not wear only one shoe. We have to wear both shoes. Only then the pair can be complete. Similarly, if we accept joys, we have to accept sorrows also. There is no escape route from either of the two. The famous personalities like Gandhiji, Einstein, and Churchill were quite dull students at schools. Even we know, the electric bulb inventor, Thomas Edison was rusticated from the school because he was not a bright student.

Later on, their works known to the world. How does this happen? It was because they had some qualities that were latent in childhood but later on developed with time. It all means that we should never give up hopes. We should stick to optimism in all circumstances. This is the clear and loud message from Shelley's famous line-"If winter comes, can spring be far behind?"
